Veterans Care: Helping Veterans and Their Spouses Receive Aid

Veterans and their surviving spouses can get up to $2,200 a month in funding to assist with paying for a home health assistant. Our Veterans Care is a special benefit from the Veterans Administration (VA) known as “Aid and Attendance.” This benefit offers up to $2,200 per month for Veterans and their spouses who need non-medical care. It helps them with daily living activities, whether they are at home or in a preferred residence. Shockingly, only 3% of over 15 million Veterans eligible for this benefit are taking advantage of it.

Eligibility for Veterans Care

This benefit requires that the Veteran or surviving spouse meet the following conditions:

  • They are over age 65.
  • They are a Veteran, a spouse of a living Veteran, or a surviving spouse of a Veteran.
  • The Veteran served in “Active Military” status for 90 days during an approved time of war: WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War.
  • They received an honorable discharge.
  • The Veteran or surviving spouse meets income requirements.
  • They need help with daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, or meal preparation to stay independent.

How Gail’s Homecare Can Help

Our VA Accredited Benefits Agents can assist Veterans and their spouses in applying for this benefit from the comfort of their homes. We have a 99.5% success rate, with approvals arriving in just 2 to 5 months. By contrast, applying at a local VA office may result in long delays, up to 10 years, with a high chance of denial.
